Take advantage of the new law in Oklahoma !
A new teen graduated license program has taken effect as of November 1st, 2005. Now you can take Virtual Drive Driver Education at age 15 and receive your Unrestricted License at age 16½.
The best part is, driver education can now be accomplished at home at a fraction of the cost of what the driving schools charge! Insurance discounts apply.
Here is how it works under the new law.
- Oklahoma residents can begin taking Virtual Drive of America when they turn 15 years old.
- First you must apply for Parent Taught Training. (Form provided)
- The student will complete the required classroom curriculum using our newest computer based training techniques.
- At age 15½ the student will go to their local DPS office and take the permit and vision test. After successful completion of both tests the student will be issued a driving permit.
- The student will complete the required hours of behind the wheel training which is provided as part of the Virtual Drive curriculum.
- At age 16 the student will be eligible to receive an Intermediate Driver License. The student must have held a driving permit for 6 months, have no traffic convictions and must have passed the driving skills exam.
- At age 16½ the student will receive their unrestricted license.
